Wits' End Productions are Guy Thompson, Josh Newiss & Freddy Syborn. We're a London-based Film & TV production company championing new writing and filmmaking in comedy and drama.
Freddy has co-written three series of BBC 3's hit sitcom Bad Education and is the writer and creator of ITV 2's Cockroaches. He has also co-written a Sky Little Cracker and contributed sketches to Psychobitches. He was named as one of the Evening Standard's Power 1000. His book, A Good Bullet, was one of The Independent's Books of the Year 2013. And The Scotsman called him "a truly gifted young theatre-maker."
Guy is a producer who has worked in development on Edgar Wright's The World's End, Cuban Fury starring Nick Frost & Rashida Jones and Man Up starring Simon Pegg & Lake Bell. He has most recently worked with the development team for Simon Chinn, the producer of Man On Wire and The Imposter on a landmark series of documentaries Digital Revolutions for Xbox Entertainment, and in the production office for BAFTA-winning producer Janine Marmot.
Prior to setting up Wits' End, Josh spent 4 years at Trinity Filmed Entertainment, a UK distribution company, where he worked extensively on theatrical releases such as Enter the Void by Gaspar Noe and Incendies by Denis Villeneuve, as well as a number of DVD and VOD releases. Previously he worked as a 2nd AD on a number of feature films. Currently Josh is raising investment for a Film Fund that will launch at Cannes 2015.
